we are currently living within a certain hegemonic tendency of human-animal societies. to be specific: we are living in a horrific, destructive, disgusting tendency towards ever more capitalist exploitation, racist and sexist violence, and eco- & genocide. therefore, it is clear that the hegemonic tendency must change. to be specific once more: it must be changed by us.

i have written previously on what it takes on a more micro-personal level to change a hegemonic tendency and that a mixture of desire, faith, knowledge and practice are necessary (see [[2026-02-14_changing tendencies|2026-02-14_changing tendencies]] and [[2026-02-22.3_reflection on ‘changing tendencies’ - desire|2026-02-22.3_reflection on ‘changing tendencies’ - desire]]. and i have also written often about what values i think said desire, faith, knowledge, and practice should be aimed toward realizing (see [[2026-03-03.1_values and elements|2026-03-03.1_values and elements]]), namely solidarity, care, empathy and freedom.

at this point in time i want to focus on terms for methods that may help us change the hegemonic tendency – meaning to simultaneously oppose and destroy it while collectively constructing a new tendency. the four terms i currently propose are: reproduction, activity, recomposition and autonomy. as with dfkp, the relations between these four elements are almost always only linear in the schematic/abstract realm. connecting to this – as with scef – (clear) distinctions between them also only exist in the schematic/abstract realm. it – as always – depends. an example: reproduction can be activity, but if it is not aiding a process of collective articulation of recomposition and autonomy, and is instead mainly reproducing the hegemonic tendency, then it is not.

these four terms/methods are still very much a work-in-process, hence them not being explained here (which is also due to the fact that i simply do not have the capacities to do so at this moment). but i will try to further clarify, use and propose them as central elements of present and future praxis with the aim of abolishing the current hegemonic tendency and articulating a new collective tendency.
